A LOUISIANA DELEGATION

Here's scrapbooking 101. A group of photos that tell a story, simply matted, a few cricut cutouts related to the photos, a title and background paper that doesn't distract from the photos.

MAY SCRAPENO - MOM'S EMPTY NEST

This month is a tribute to the moms currently experiences an empty nest for the first time like me. Well, it's been almost a year and a half but I can now write and scrap about it without getting teary eyed.

Well, let's face it, you could change this to a baby's layout, a girly layout, teens, spring, Easter....you get the picture.

ADVENTURES IN SCRAP

Any time I can get away and scrap with my friends is an "adventure in scrap." This week Karen and I, the original Gypsy Ya Yas, were off to Scott to the Ladybug Lodge for a three day slumber party. I absolute love cropping at the Ladybug. These ladies have played such a role in my scrapbook experience over the past two years. They inspire me to go beyond my comfort zone and create not only scrapbook pages, but pages that reflect my spirit.

HWY 61 BLUES MUSEUM

Here's another treasure found while traveling for work, the Hwy. 61 Blues Museum. The museum did not really have a lot of items. What it had was charm and character and a very interesting blues muscian who sang for me the entire time I was visiting. His father was actually someone very important to blues and he was doing what he could to keep his father's memory alive. It's an experience I feel fortunate to have.

FEBRUARY SCRAPENO PROJECT

The theme for this month's project was use your scraps. I recreated a design from Connee Giraud and found I had lots of scraps left over so I added a few more pages from the same Graphic 45 line and created another double page layout and tag. There is a lot of cutting in this project but I think it is so worth it.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT SCRAPBOOKING

What I love about scrapbooking is that you don't always have to reinvent the wheel. Here's my point. I took a class at Treasured Memories in Lafayette. Before it was all said and done I changed a few items on the layout and made it my own. I came home and received my packet from Creation Station with this blue paper and created two more layouts with the same basic layout which goes to prove my first statement..you don't have to reinvent the wheel, just tweek it a little and make it your own creation. I fact, this post will become my jouraling for the original page.
